Shift Happens. Watch this video and decide what student you want to be…

Wow- I’m blown away. Larry and Patty Wilson just forwarded us an amazing link that prepares for the future. The Wilson Collaborative often talks about Innovative Learning rather than Maintenance Learning in their corporate training porgrams and I think the message is clear. For us to be fulfilled, meaning being more than successful- being happy, joyous, energized and passionate about what we’re doing on this planet, we really need to integrate more methods of learning than we were given.

This is one reason why Shift is so powerful. Yes it is a game and yes all of the elements are experiential. Yes interactive learning is the number one way to ground any lesson. And, beyond our methodology for teaching, I think the subject matter is the ultimate course of study. Shift allows us to learn about ourselves and see what makes us tick. It does more than expose the way we show up in every relationship whether it’s with time, money, our friends, family or lovers. Shift shows us how we show up for ourselves. In this fast forward world of communication and virtual connectedness, our making time to check in internally and acknowledge our highest Selves, will provide us the opportunity to operate from a place of love and that, my firends, will prove more powerful for creating connection than any MySpace ever could.

“This is the type of event that changes your definitions. What is evil? What is loss?” What is fear?

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007 by guest

As we once again hear the collective sigh of helplessness at the news of yet another senseless shooting, I could not help but be moved by the recent anonymous quote, noted above, from a Virginia Tech student. Fear continues to reign. Fingers are being pointed at the living for not noticing and doing something about the apparently troubled shooter. And now there is a fear of backlash and further violence against others. I literally cannot express my outrage of continued extreme fear-based actions. What drives us at Shift to assist people to move away from Fear towards Love is expressed perfectly by Rhonda Britten in her blog. Please check it out – and for those who don’t know Rhonda’s history, she has faced death head on and is surviving to help others.

Shift Circles are the place to apply the concepts in The Secret

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007 by guest

“The Secret” is about the law of attraction. It says our thoughts create our reality. Shift shows us exactly what those thoughts are. We get to see what’s holding us back from our full potential and why we keep attracting the same situations. Shift shows us why we do what we do and allows us to see that one small shift in thought can shift our lives.

Shift Circles are gatherings of people ready to make a shift. Shift Circles are the place to work your mental muscles so that we can live from a place of love. The evening includes space for networking from the heart, game play and each month we’ll focus on a new muscle and do some dedicated exercise around it. We’ve already worked Gratitude and Trust, come see which muscle we’ll tone in March.

You’ve seen The Secret, now apply the lessons to your life with Shift. “The Secret?”

“It made me feel like I have control over situations”

Friday, August 25th, 2006 by guest

This is a quote from a participant at a recent Shift Workshop. Other comments included playing Shift in the workshop “taught me how to think and react to any subject”, “I learned my defense is The Critic – I will improve and be less judgmental” and “I came in today with fear and now with the game I have the ability to SHIFT into a happier place”. And this was not an easy crowd! This workshop was with staff from all levels at a public Pre-School – 12th grade special needs school. Staff concerns on their first day back from vacation ranged from time issues to communication to being able to express emotions when needed. Through exercises and playing the game, many SHIFTED to start their year in a better place that just the day before. Check out our Shift Workshop pages to learn more about what Shift can do for your organization. Teachers learned that a game really can change your life.

It’s always something

I always thought that life would be easier when all my children left home. We would have quiet dinners, leisurely walks and travel on the weekends. That is not necessarily true as my husband and I found out this year. From taking in Grandma for a few months to taking in a friend for the summer, our lives have been crazier then ever. Or is it? All kids and a spare have come home for the summer. As I scramble working, preparing meals for seven, laundry (it never ends) and keeping a semi-clean home I often have to remind myself that my reality is what I make it. It is either very hectic or I can change my thinking in that I am blessed to have so many people sharing my home with me. I choose the later. So can you.

Your game is Blessed

Tuesday, January 31st, 2006 by guest

During the Christmas rush, my daughter and I were responsible for sending out several games to new Shift players. We were a good team and got alot of games out and in the mail. However, even with beautiful music in the background and good company in the present, I felt it all becoming too routine. These games are special and have been created out of love and with love. We needed to change our thoughts about the routine of creating labels, packing boxes, sealing boxes and driving to FedEx. We decided to bless the games – to make each one special, going to special people. Now, each and every game that leaves our facility, is blessed. Recently at The World Wellness Conference, we talked about Shift until we no longer had a voice left. Every game sold at the World Wellness Conference was blessed. We wished them a good home and many new friends. This practice continues and as long as we are able, please know that when Shift is sent to you it comes with heartfelt good wishes for a speedy delivery and many good games. Namaste!
