What if playing a game showed you why you do what you do? The new game Shift, which is fast becoming a favorite for those wishing to make personal changes, does just that. Shift is a board game for 2-6 players that shows us that one small shift in thought can change your life.
It has been said that all emotions in the world can be narrowed down to just two- Love and Fear. All the others are just sub-categories of love or fear. On the side of love we find joy, peace, happiness, and forgiveness to mention a few. On the other side, fear is hate, depression, guilt, anger, attack and so on.
OK, so how does this affect you and those around you? How do we react to the current state of the world when fear and anger abound? You can choose to be in the state of love or the state of fear. Learning to make the active choice to love and not fear in every situation is the way to find inner peace. And, being able to see your behavior and then learning to choose love is easy when you play Shift.
After much reading and soul searching, game creator Nicole Casanova became aware that her own thinking and resulting actions were making her life unhappy. She wanted to offer awareness and the idea of choice to everyone in a fun, interactive way. Using content from Buddha, Gandhi, Marianne Williamson and a stand-up comedian, players learn that they can choose to act from love through insight and laughter.
Shift’s mission is to remind as many people as possible that they are loved. Five years from idea to publication that mission is being accomplished. Shift is carried in over 45 retailers across the country from Strand Bookstore in New York City to Wild Oats Markets across the west. Bookstores, gift stores, yoga studios and new age outlets are selling Shift and another 75 affiliates from life coaches to psychologists offer Shift as well.
